Heartbleed Bug

You may have read articles in the news recently regarding the Heartbleed Bug.  Below is a link to a Wall Street Journal article that describes the Heartbleed Bug as well as speaks to internet security as a whole. Included in the article is a site where you can go to see whether or not a website you frequent may be vulnerable to the Heartbleed Bug. The article also speaks to "two-factor authentification" which is an additional security feature that we here at Elkhorn Valley Bank utilize in our online banking.  This security feature utlilizes the incorporation of the picture and phrase that you see on the screen where you enter your password when logging onto online banking.  In addition, whenever you access your online banking from a new device or PC there is an additional layer of protection that prompts you to answer additional security questions.  We encourage all bank customers to change their passwords regularly and never share your password and/or PIN with anyone.  We hope this information is helpful and if you have any further questions regarding online banking, please don't hesitate to contact us at (402) 371-0722.
